OSRAM is one of the two leading light manufacturers in the world. The company's portfolio covers the entire value chain from components – including lamps, electronic control gears and opto semiconductors such as light-emitting diodes (LED) – as well as luminaires, light management systems and lighting solutions. The company, which is internationally oriented, had more than 35,000 employees worldwide at the end of the fiscal year 2013 and generated a revenue of almost 5.3 billion Euros in that year. The company’s business activities have been focusing on light – and hence on quality of life – for over 100 years.
Consumers can check online that xenon lamps from Osram are the genuine article. The lighting giant has developed what it calls a “trust programme” in the face of an increase in the number of pirate products on the market.
Does It Comply? is an industry initiative lead by BEAMA, GAMBICA, LIA, ACI, and ESCO, and supported by Voltimum. The mission is to educate and inform contractors, installers, and specifiers to the damaging consequences to the industry from the trade in non-compliant product, whilst raising the profile to the wider stakeholders of issues with non-compliant products.
